The machine vision and digital imaging industry seek to utilise the inspection and analysis of image-based data and information, in order to perform inspection, guidance and control processes automatically or autonomously.   

Technology within the sector continues advance at a rapid pace, driven by advancements in software and hardware systems, and integrations capabilities.

As the technology advances, new markets emerge such as rapid digitisation of traditional moving film archives, and the digital archiving of historical genealogy documentation.

The below example list is not exhaustive. It provides a summarised representative sample of qualifying activities.
